The count is in finally! -July 24, 2008-

Azriel has finally had her litter of Kenyan Sand Boas! She had 14 beautiful babies and 1 dud. I'm quite happy with her, she treated me very well this season!! See Kenyan Sand Boa Page for some pictures!

New Scorpions! -July 5, 2008-

Today I got in 6 new scorpions from Tarantula Canada. I got in 2 Hadogenes Troglodytes, 2 Mesobuthus martensi and 2 Centruroides exilicauda/sculpturatus. Thanks again to Tarantula Canada for helping me get these new scorpions!

Website overhaul! -June 27, 2008-

Today I did some work on my website to make it a bit more visually appealing. I hope you enjoy the new look, as well as the information my website provides. I may do more work to the website, but for now I have done a fair amount! Enjoy!

New Sand Boas! -June 24, 2008-

Today I got in my much awaited Kenyan Sand Boa order! Alberta Bred Geckos is very happy to announce that it has acquired the following breeders:

- More Nuclear Kenyan Sand Boas

- Anerythristic Kenyan Sand Boas

- Amelanistic (Albino) Kenyan Sand Boas

- Snow Kenyan Sand Boas

These new additions will be bred in the 2011 breeding season. Until then, I will be enjoying watching my new additions grow and flourish!

New Geckos! -May 21, 2008-

Today I got my order in of Tangerine Striped African Fat-tailed Geckos and Snow Leopard Geckos! These are very much looked forward to additions, as I have been planning to get some of each for a few years now. All the geckos are in quarantined at the moment, but all appear very healthy. The AFTs will be a breeding project for the 2009 breeding season. I will most likely breed around June 2009, depending on the weights and health of the geckos at that time. I may breed the Snow Leopard Geckos this season, tho I will decide once the quarantine period is over. See Leopard Gecko Page and Fat-Tailed Gecko Page.

New Scorpion pictures! -May 14, 2008-

I finally had time to sit and get fresh pictures of everyone. I got black light pictures of those I had not taken of and regular light and black light of all the rest I have been getting in. Was a fair bit of work getting good pictures, as some just would not sit still for a photo opt! See my Scorpions Page for the pictures!

New Scorpions! -May 13, 2008-

Today I got in 3 more of the Scorpions (1 is most likely Asian Forest Scorpions) today. They are really quite nice looking, hopefully with some research I can properly verify what specie they are. See my Scorpions Page for more!

New Scorpions! -May 7, 2008-

Today I got one more B. jacksoni (freshly moulted) from Ollie and another order of 7 scorpions in. The other order I got 3 x P. imperator, 2 x P. cavimanus, 1 x H. spinifer. I as well brought in one extra P. imperator for someone else. See my Scorpions Page for more!

New Scorpions! -April 29, 2008-

I picked up my 6 new Scorpions today, adding 4 new species! Species added were Flat Rock Scorpion (Hadogenes troglodytes), Asian Forest Scorpion (Heterometrus spinifer), Red Claw Scorpion (Pandinus cavimanus) and Emperor Scorpion (Pandinus imperator). These ones are much larger than the first bunch of Scorpions I got. See my Scorpions Page for more!

Invertebrates! -April 11, 2008-

Alberta Bred Geckos has also decided to expand to include Scorpions. I am going to try my hand at breeding (hopefully successfully) a variety of Scorpions. Mainly they will be pets, but hopefully I will be able to successfully breed them! See the brand new Scorpion Page!

Boaphile Enclosures -Mar 12, 2008-

The new enclosures are full setup for the Sand boas. Thermostats have been installed and I have moved the snakes into their new homes. I've had fun watching a bunch them probe around and snoop around their new homes. I missed a couple of great pictures, but I got a few good ones still. More pictures to come!

Baby Sand Boas Feeding well!! -June 15, 2007-

So far all of the baby Kenyan Sand Boas have all fed twice without any problems on live smaller pinkies. I am going to see if they will accept frozen thawed Pinkies next, but all have fed very well, one baby even ate two Pinkie mice in one sitting! I do not foresee any issues with these babies so they should all be available July 1, 2007 as planned.

First Red Stripes of the Season! -June 6, 2007-

The first set of my Red Stripe Breeding Group have hatched and are listed on the Available Page. These are not available until they are minimum 1 month old, but deposits can be made on them. Check out the Available Page now!

Anti-spam measures -May 30,2007-

To cut down on the amount of spam I am receiving from my website, I have placed spaces in any of my websites email address' posted on my website. All you need to do is copy the test and remove any spaces and the email address will work. I have been having tons of problems with online spam bots sending me hundreds of emails a week.

Limited hatchlings available this season! -May 30,2007-

I have stopped breeding my Giants Group #2 due to a large loss of weight in the females. I may not be breeding this group again until next season, so if you want a hatchling you must act fast and purchase a gecko now. I have only a few more eggs incubating from this breeding group, so hatchlings are going to be extremely limited for now.

Kenyan Sand Boa Hatchlings! -May 30,2007-

My female Kenyan Sand Boa has unexpectedly had 9 hatchling Kenyan Sand Boas on May 27th. I will be having them up for sale after I have had them for a month minimum and have established them all feeding well. This was an unplanned hatch, so get them while you can. Next breeding season is not planned until 2009.

Incubators are empty!

My last two eggs hatched Oct 2 & 3, 2006, so whatever I have available is now listed on my Available Page. If you would like a Leopard Gecko from Alberta Bred Geckos, act fast! They are selling quickly and I will not have any more eggs till mid-January. I will not have hatchling geckos till most likely around March 2007 Season. It is possible I will have  a few more eggs but very unlikely.

Hatchlings Available -June/3/2006-

Tomorrow I will have pictures of all my hatchlings that I have available. I have updated the information on them all, just needed to sort out pictures that I had already and verify identities before doing another photo shoot for updated pictures. Expect the pictures within the next day or two, time permitting. If there is any that you are interested in please be patient. I will have photos very soon.

Giant Leopard Gecko Breeding project update

I am going to be delaying my breeding of my giants until the 2007 breeding season. I have delayed the project to give my females more time to finish growing and gaining weight. I am very excited to begin breeding, but do not want to rush my geckos. The females are all growing very well, and should be great breeders in the upcoming season. I am also happy to report that my male Giant has recovered from his illness and is growing very fast. I will keep you all posted if I decide to breed them before the 2007 breeding season.

Hi everyone, I have to apologize to anyone that has been sending me form submissions. I found out today that my forms and any emails sent to my websites email have not been getting properly forwarded to my email address. I will be going through all the emails I have missed so if I have not responded, please be patient I should be able to go through them all within the next week or less. I will reply to the submissions shortly.

Breeding plan cancellation..

On March 9th, 2006, Striker, my male Tokay passed away. With the loss of both my male and female Tokay now I have put my breeding plans for this species of gecko on long term hold and have decided to concentrate on my breeding of Leopard geckos. I am unsure if I will pursue breeding this very unique specie.

Breaking News!

Alberta Bred Geckos has acquired a new specie to it's future breeding plans!! I have acquired a male/female pair of Kenyan Sand Boas (Eryx colubrinus loveridgei) I am currently constructing a webpage for these new additions. They are both approximately 2 years old, so they will not be bred for the next 3-4 years. This is the only snakes I have taken any interest in, and have no plans on breeding any other types of snakes.  Feel free to check out the new Kenyan Sand Boas Page.

2006 Breeding Season has arrived!!

Well the 2006 breeding season has started!! This season is a little slower than previous years, with less eggs available so far, but it shouldn't be too long before all the females start to produce lots of eggs. I have eggs in the incubator for males at this time, but eggs will be placed in the female incubator very soon. Check back often to see what's hatching!!

Humid Hides -Sept/29/05-

I am now accepting orders for both large and small humid hides. I am going to be making them on a regular basis, but if I happen to be out, I will be more than happy to make some upon request as soon as possible. Please see Products page for prices.

Female Giants have arrived! -Sept/11/05-

Today I got my female giants order in, all ordered direct from Ron Tremper. They are all very high quality, bright colored Giant Tremper Albinos. Two are Jungles, one is Striped, and the other is Banded. These are great additions to my breeding stock and I am looking forward to working with them next season. Here is a group shot just after I put them in a temporary home, just to show their amazing colors.

Products update 2 -Aug/21/05-

Due to the lack of a distributor, I have decided to only carry a small amount of items on hand and they will be listed. I have decided to start selling my own Humid Hides that I make myself on a limited basis. I will also have available the option to setup a Terrarium with a Gecko. Prices and details will be listed on the Products page.

Products update -Aug/13/05-

I have not found any distributors/wholesalers that will sell products to me. Apparently you need to have an actual storefront business to be able to qualify from the basically one distributor in town. I am going to try and start sourcing out good dealers online. This is not what I wanted to do, so I may scrap the idea all together of trying to carry items.

Possible supplying of products..

I am currently trying to source out wholesale purchasing of items to provide competitive and cheaper prices for my customers, instead of paying high prices at a pet store. At this time I do not have these items, but I am working on being able to supply my customers with these products, to provide the best service I can. I am not sure how long it will take me to find a wholesaler, but it may take some time. Please check out my Products page, items I am trying to source out are listed.

Availability of geckos update -July/30/2005-

My females have all basically stopped laying eggs. I have some eggs left in the incubator, but I will not have very many more hatchlings as my incubators are emptying out slowly. Geckos are going to be limited for the rest of the season, so if you want a gecko, now is the time to place and order! Tremper Albinos are going fast, and will not last long once available. If you would like pictures, or would like to place a hold on a gecko, please send me a Contact Form. Thank you to all my customers this season! It's been a great season so far and I am looking forward to doing business with you all again!

An unfortunate loss....

On Saturday, July 23, 2005 around midnight, Silver, my female Tokay passed away due to unknown complications. I suspect that she may have become egg bound, and she died due to the internal causes. She had not shown any signs of problems, so it could have been old age that took her. I do not know for sure. I am hoping that the two eggs she has laid will hatch, and her offspring will carry her memory on. If her egg hatch, they will not be for sale for sentimental reasons. My breeding plans for Tokays have been put on hold for now.

Breeders Page Completed! -July/19/05-

The Breeders Page is now setup, I will be taking some updated pictures and swapping them out as soon as I can, but there are at least some pictures up for now. I am probably going to create some form of photo "booth" for my geckos, so it may take a little time.

Giant Tremper Albino Leopard Geckos!!

   I am happy to announce that Alberta Bred Geckos has expanded to Tremper Albino Giant Leopard Geckos as of April/2005, and will have Tremper Giant Albino Leopard geckos available in 2006 season. Breeders are direct from the source, Ron Tremper himself. These awesome geckos are capable of reaching weights of 100+ grams. Many different patterns will be available, including Tremper Giant Albinos with the following traits: Carrot-Head, Carrot-Tail, Tangerine Albino, Jungle, Red-Eyes and various HET's and mixes of patterns.

Tremper Albino Leopard Geckos!!

I have acquired a Breeding group of Tremper Albino geckos as of Mar/2005. The genetics are to be proven out, but all the breeders are Albinos, so HET Albinos will be available for sure in the 2005 breeding season and after.

Tokay Geckos!!

I have expanded to include Tokay geckos (Gekko gecko) as of Feb/2005. They are Wild Caught specimens purchased at a local pet store. I currently only have 1.1 Tokays, but may expand once I have a larger Terrarium setup that can house one or two additional females.
I have had several clutches laid in the 2005 season so far, so I may have some Captive Bred hatchlings available in the 2005 season.
