I got in two of these (#1, #2) neat little guys April 20, 2008, they were hatched out March 20, 2008. I got one more (#3) from Ollie on May 7, 2008. The female that had them had 24 babies! Babycurus jacksoni. Common name for them is the "Rusty Thick Tailed Scorpion" ALSO "African Red Bark Scorpion" or "Tanzanian Rusty Thick Tailed Scorpion". This scorpion is of the Buthidae family. Pictures of the female "mom" courtesy of Ollie's great photography! . Thanks again! |

Babycurus jacksoni (Rusty Thick Tailed) Scorpion Notes |
-April 20, 2008- I had a very tough time getting good solid pictures of my Scorpions, as some are still extremely tiny, and others would just not sit still for a photo opt! I did my best to take pictures of them in a normal "cool" white light, as well in the Black-light. I definitely need an adaptor for my camera and few macro-lens' so I can take better pictures! -May 7, 2008- I got one more B. jacksoni in today, it has just shed (shed is in the deli cup) thanks again Ollie! These guys are great little scorpions, very fun to watch feed! -May 13, 2008- I took some fresh pictures of #3, but as you can see, the scorpion still does not glow very much right now, but looks great! |
Babycurus jacksoni (Rusty Thick Tailed) Scorpion #1 |
-September 12, 2008- I lost this scorpion in the last few days, possibly due to an injury with a cricket. -April 20, 2008- |

I got in 2 of these July 5, 2008 from Tarantula Canada. I got in a 1.1 of these from US breeder July, 2008. Centruroides exilicauda / sculpturatus. Common name for them is the "Arizona Bark Scorpion". This scorpion is of the Buthidae family. |
Centruroides exilicauda / sculpturatus (Arizona Bark) Scorpion Notes |
-Nov 28, 2008- After checking several times to make sure that the body was not a shed, I have found out that one of my littler C, sculpturatus died. Unsure as to why, the other one is doing well. -July 18, 2008- I received my order of 1 male and 1 female in today. Apparently the female may already be pregnant, so I may have a whole lot of little scorpions very soon! -July 5, 2008- I just got in 2 of these guys, and MAN are they small! These are definitely very young scorpions, but I do not mind, as my C. gracilis were only a small amount larger when I got them. I will try get some pictures soon. Glad I got my adaptor and macro lenses in for my camera! |

Centruroides exilicauda / sculpturatus (Arizona Bark) Scorpion #2 |

Centruroides gracilis (Slender Brown Bark) Scorpion Notes |
-Dec 1,2008- After disturbing it while shedding, my C. gracilis #1 ended up dying. -May 3, 2008- I found the first moults the last few days for my C. gracilis. I took a few pictures of the Moult, both with normal and Black lighting. See scorpion #2 May 3, 2008 for pictures. |

Heterometrus spinifer (Asian Forest) Scorpion Notes |
-September 7, 2008- I have put the last of these scorpions up for sale. I have decided to concentrate on other species of scorpions. -May 7, 2008- I am unsure if #1, #2, #3 are indeed H. spinifer, but for now I will label them as such with a question mark, as I am not 100% sure. I need to do alot of research to try to ID them properly. As well, #1 died on May 5, 2008, see my Previous Scorpions Page. -May 13, 2008- I got 1 more of the Scorpions that looked like H. spinifer #1 today. Hopefully I will be able to properly ID them eventually, but until then, I will label them as H. spinifer until I know otherwise. I'll post pictures today most likely. Got to love mystery Scorpions! -May 13, 2008- I have noticed both #2 & #3 have been burrowing a fair bit in their substrate. I'll try to get a few pictures of their burrowing they have been up to. -May 13, 2008- #3 has just moulted within the last day or so. I'm going to get some pictures of the moult, and of the freshly moulted Scorpion, but I'll have to wait for a good black light picture. |

Mesobuthus martensi (Chinese Armoured) Scorpion Notes |
-August 11, 2008- Unfortunately I found the other Chinese Armoured (#2) dead today as well. Both died in their water dish, but both were acting injured. Possibly my husbandry is to blame. I'm unsure, but I will not be trying to keep these scorpions for a little while. -August 3, 2008- Well after watching and hoping that the scorpion would improve I found #1 has died. I had hoped that it would recover as it had been acting like it was injured somehow for the last while. I had hoped it would last until it shed and recovered but no such luck. -July 5, 2008- I got in 2 of these and they are a little larger than my B. Jacksoni scorpions, but I am very pleased as I don't mind the size, and am very happy to finally have some as I've been looking forward to getting some of these scorpions in. I'll be posting some pictures as soon as I have time to take some. |

Pandinus cavimanus (Red Claw) Scorpion Notes |
-September 7, 2008- I have put the last of these scorpions up for sale. I have decided to concentrate on other species of scorpions. -May 14, 2008- I have found these scorpions to be a fair bit more aggressive than my Emperors. They are very closely related, but have much more aggressive tendencies. #1 is very aggressive, but this could be because the scorpion appears to have a lump on the right side very close to the base of the tail. It appears to be causing the back plates to also be mis-aligned, so it may be a partial cause to its aggressions. The others are still fairly aggressive, and do not hesitate to pinch at anything. |
Pandinus cavimanus (Red Claw) Scorpion #1 |
I got in this one on April 29, 2008. (#1) This Scorpion died on me on June 8, 2008. I believe it was old age, as this was a larger W/C Scorpion. The Scorpion basically seemed to become weaker and weaker over a few days, until it just died. I checked humidity and everything, so not sure. Had been feeding ok and everything up to this point. -May 3, 2008- -May 14, 2008- |
Pandinus cavimanus (Red Claw) Scorpion #2 |
-May 14, 2008- |
Pandinus cavimanus (Red Claw) Scorpion #3 |
I got in this one on May 7, 2008. (#3) This Scorpion died June 16, 2008, much like the others. I am wondering what is going on. -May 14, 2008- |
Pandinus cavimanus (Red Claw) Scorpion #4 |
-September 7, 2008- I have put the last of these scorpions up for sale. I have decided to concentrate on other species of scorpions. -May 24, 2008- pictures to come soon |
Pandinus imperator (Emperor) Scorpions |
I got in 3 of these on May 7, 2008. (#1, #2, #3) I got in 2 more of these on May 13, 2008. (#4, #5) Pandinus imperator. Common name for them is the "Emperor Scorpion" ALSO "Imperial Scorpion". This scorpion is of the Scorpionidae family. |
Pandinus imperator (Emperor) Scorpion Notes |
-September 7, 2008- I have put the last of these scorpions up for sale. I have decided to concentrate on other species of scorpions. -May 14, 2008- Ok so I took some pictures very early this morning (2am-ish) and came to a very big conclusion. I need a much taller picture cup for some of these guys! LOL #4 and #5 are really big, and they had a blissfully easy time of getting out of the cup having fun making me fight to get a good picture. I finally got a few ok shots, but I will definitely be locating a larger cup for pictures of these larger Scorpions from now on! |

-May 14, 2008- |
Pandinus imperator (Emperor) Scorpion #5 |
I had got this one on May 13, 2008. (#5) This Scorpion died June 16, 2008. Odds are old age again, as the Scorpion appeared to go downhill over the last few days, making weird movements and almost laying on it's side. As well, it appeared to be making a weak stinging motion alot of the time, but then would drop it's tail to the ground. It as well had been feeding well and had ok humidity ect. It is a bummer because I had planned to pair up in a 10 or 20 gallon long terrarium #4 and #5 soon, see if I could breed them. Although I was unsure of their genders, I wanted to at least give it a try at a communal setup. I still will, just have to wait for the smaller ones to grow a bit more and mature. -May 14, 2008- |
Pandinus imperator Scorpion -May 7, 2008 order- |
This is an extra scorpion I ordered in extra for someone else with my order. Was a nice big adult P. imperator, was tempting to keep it! |
