Tartar Sand Boa Page

Alberta Bred Geckos is extremely happy to announce that I have acquired some Tartar Sand Boas (Eryx tataricus) also known as Tater Sand Boas on .

These were collected from Northern China locale, close to the Mongolian Border.

Apparently most Tartars in North America are from Russia, west of the Himalayas.

I have been striving to get new species, these are definitely a much looked forward to new addition! Check back often for updates!

THIS DEAL APPEARS TO HAVE FALLEN THROUGH...

Personal Notes and Information

As I have gotten these Tartar Sand Boas as WC (Wild Caught) I am unsure of their ages. I will try to approximate their age by their size/length in comparison to my other types of Sand Boas, but this will be inaccurate at best.

I will also be looking at taking all of these new acquisitions in for a full vet check-up, and as well probably treat for any external or internal parasites.

I truly hope that I do not lose any of these Sand Boas, as they are very hard to come by in the Canadian reptile community. I am hoping to get a breeding colony established and offer these very hard to find specie of Sand Boas in a few years time.

Females get about 36" long on a regular basis, rarely exceeding this length.

Tartars will have between 6-20 live born babies.

Identification can be rather confusing, as Tartars look extremely similar to Russian Sand Boas (Eryx miliaris). See Russian Sand Boa Page.
